Rachel and Adam's Engagement Session

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Rachel called me awhile back and said that I HAD to photograph her wedding! I had photographed her fiance's brothers wedding a few years back and they had told her that she had to call me. So we talked and quickly became friends! I was so excited to do their engagement session and see Adam again; it had been forever.

When I am talking to a couple about where to do their engagement session I try to encourage them to think outside of the box and do something different, something that means something to them. After talking to Rachel we decided that we needed to do the session at Chaparral High School, which is where they met and started dating over 4 years ago. I loved the idea! We started at Kierland to start the fun, and then we headed over to Chaparral High School.

I loved how these guys interacted together and I love that we did something fun and different!

Thanks guys!!! I'm so excited for the wedding!!!

Pug Meeting and Model Shoot

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Every 3rd Thursday a bunch of photographers gather at my studio and we talk about photography, life, and have a wonderful time getting to know each other. It's one of my favorite times of the month! Yesterday we did things a little different. We did a night time shoot. Jefferson Todd, Stuart Thurkill, and I all brought models and lighting equipment of our choice. We then had everyone who attended split up into groups and we went out around downtown Mesa and had fun shooting models. We had a blast and everyone did such a great job.

I was excited too because JT reminded me to take a picture of the group and i've been wanting to do that forever!! So the pictures above are of everyone who participated except one of the models, who had to take off early. Also, for those of you who have been wanting to see my studio, this picture is a sneak peak!!!

I do love taking pictures at night, it's a lot of fun and i'm having a great time playing around with techniques. I had the wonderful fortune of having Jessamy come out and be my model. We wanted to do funky, fun, and crazy, and she pulled it off!!! Thanks so much Jessamy. Below are some of my favs!!!

Little Ethan

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This weekend has been wonderful and fun! I came up to Pinetop this weekend to get away and relax a little with my sister and her boys. It's been a lot of fun!

While here Carrine came over and brought little Ethan who is 4 months old. I had to take some pictures while I got to see him! I photographed Carrine and Michaels wedding and Carrine is my sisters best friend, so I had to take some pictures of Ethan.

He is so cute and was so good for the photo shoot!!! These are a few of my favorites.

Its time for an update and a contest!!!

Ok, I know it's been forever and I'm so sorry!!! I have been running around trying to get everything done and blogging just doesn't seem to take priority, which it should....

So, I have a wonderful friend, Jennifer Bowen, who just posted up a contest on her blog and I thought it was such a great idea that I wanted to do something similar.

So this is an official contest for all my wonderful blog readers and past clients!

What image that I took from any session stands out the most to you and means the most to you and why?

Please shoot me an email that explains which image is your absolute favorite. If you only had one image from that day which one would you want the most. I need a story behind why it is your favorite and why it means so much to you. Make it good!!!

What to do: Email me a description of the image or if you know the image number from proofing send that to me. Describe why it means the most to you; Did you cry? Did it capture a special moment? Does it just make you melt every time you see it? It doesn't have to be a long story, I just want to know why it means so much to you.

Once I hear from everyone I will choose the best story and image and that person will receive a 20x30 print of that image (a $300 value).

Deadline: Please send me your entry by Tuesday March 11th at midnight.

The winning story and image will be posted on my blog.

Album Mania

Wow, has it really been that long since I last posted? I'm so sorry for my readers that I am slacking on posts... we've been crazy busy over here with album designs and organizing that I just keep forgetting to post things. And to top it all off I have a cold... ughhh the kind that won't go away!!!

Today I am going to show you a wonderful album that we just designed for Jessi and Matt. This wedding was so much fun and there were so many great pictures to choose from.

Many people ask me how I go about picking out the pictures for my albums. Well for starters I ask my clients to choose their favorite pictures from their wedding; I let them know that the more they choose the bigger their album will be. Some people opt for a HUGE album, sometimes up to 100 pages and then some want a smaller album. Jessi, choose 80 of her favorites so her album is 40 pages. From there I will add to those pictures in order to tell the story of the day. We choose some details pictures, getting ready pictures, Bride and Groom pictures, all the way up to the end of the night. It usually takes about 40 pages minimum to be able to get it all in and I would say an average album usually ends up being about 60 pages. Sometimes a client will ask me to just design it the best way I see it... that is where I have a lot of fun and choose all my favorites, but beware it usually ends up being a large album!!!!

Jessi and Matts album turned out great! The final album will be a 9.5x13 album with a beautiful metal cover. They have a couple chances to make changes that they would like and then within a few months they get to hold their new baby in their own hands!!! I love it!
