Canvas Prints

Wrapped Canvas Prints are the new thing and I'm so glad my clients are jumping on board!!!

Most of the time when people order pictures they stick to the standard 5x7 or 8x10 prints, but sometimes you need to think outside of the box and go dramatic! Have you seen the homes on HGTV or Extreme Makeover? They are phenomenal... they are grand, big, and much of what makes the interior is the art; it is very dramatic and big. Most people don't realize that you can do that to your own house by taking your favorite picture and getting a large print or in this case Canvas.

Wrapped Canvas prints are wonderful because you don't have to frame them! They come ready to hang and truly are a piece of art. Framing is so expensive nowadays and wrapped Canvas prints make it much more affordable to get a true piece of art for your house at a reasonable price.

Lately I've had a few clients order canvas prints and I LOVE the way they have turned out.

Here are a few pictures of what the end product looks like.

Baby Update

Well Kailee has decided to be stubborn!! Today is her official due date and she is still not here!

Jamie says that she is late like her mom and stubborn like her dad!! Oh no, not already!!!!:)

I am hanging in there, but am very ready to meet my brand new little girl! The last stages of pregnancy definitely wear on you and I'm feeling it, but soon she will be here and life will be good!!!

I've been working quite a bit still, but things are slowing down! Melanie is still in the office and we are still checking messages and emails... just please be patient with us as we embark on this new journey!!!

I will update you all again once the little girl decides to make her grand entrance!! And there will be pictures!!! Lots of pictures!!!

New Camera!!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I've been searching hi and lo for a great point and shoot camera since my very old one of 4 years just died. After asking all of you for advice and doing some research I decided to buy the Canon 870 IS, mostly because it has a wide angle lens!! So far I really like it.

I started playing with it and took a couple pictures of my wonderful kitty, J-Lo and also Kailee's almost finished room. It did a pretty good job.

I will always still love my 5D and nothing can compare, but it is nice having a small camera to run around with!

My Three Sons Designs

A couple posts back I mentioned Jen Byard with My Three Sons Designs.

Jen has an awesome company that makes blankets, onsies, burp cloths, and just about anything cute for babies! I was able to take some pictures for her for her website and already posted the pictures of the little girl, well I just finished the pictures of the little boys so now I have more to share.

These little guys are so cute and were so happy! You can tell that Jen's products make them super excited.

These are great for baby shower gifts so make sure that you check everything out on the website. Jen is also doing a blog giveaway right now too. Check it out here, you could win some cool stuff!

I also want to thank Blissful Living Studio for allowing me to use the studio to shoot these in. If you want to do something really fun this summer check out some of the classes that the studio is offering.

This is one of my favorites!!!! Aren't those Onsies super cute?

It's update and Contest time!!!

Things are going to be slowing down around the studio for the next few months as we are anticipating the arrival of the next addition to the Jarman Family, Baby Kailee! Please have patience with us as we navigate this new season of life and business. Melanie will continue to be in the studio on a regular, though limited, basis to return phone calls, emails, etc. Things will be back in full swing starting in October as we are completely booked with weddings and sessions for that month! If you are needing to place an order or schedule a session, please contact us in the next week in order for us to best serve you!

Also, because I haven't done a contest in a long time I thought it would be fun to do a baby contest!!!

Contest time:

Kailee's due date is July 26th, in just a couple of weeks!!! So I want everyone to chime in and tell me when you think she will actually be born (the date and time). The person that gets closest to her date and time of birth will get a $10 ITunes Gift certificate!!!

All you have to do is comment on when you think she will be born and then stay tuned for the update when she finally comes! Once things slow down a little bit we will look at all the comments and the winner will get a $10 ITunes Gift Card!

I might not be updating as regularly because of everything that will be going on, but I hope to let you all know once Kailee is born and at least post a couple of pictures!!! I'm in for a wild ride... wish me luck!!!

Photography Workshop Recap!!!

Photobucket

Last Saturday Jennifer and I held our first Photography Workshop for Beginners. We had a really great time getting to meet all of the attendees and we felt like it went really well! Based on what everyone who attended said, we feel it was a success and look forward to doing more in the future. Everyone said they learned something new and felt it was a tremendous help to understanding your cameras and the fundamentals better through the hands-on instruction.

Above are a few pictures, but unfortunately the flash was inadvertently turned off on the point-and-shoot, so these pictures are pretty grainy and dark. (Thanks Katie, for helping to capture part of the day.)

Future Workshops::

We will definitely hold another workshop or two in the fall; likely the beginners workshop again as well as a more intermediate version that will include models and a live shoot. As of now we do not have a date selected, but if you are interested in being on the mailing list for our future workshops, please send me an email and we'll make sure to keep you updated! All of you who attended saturday will be automatically added.

Thank you to everyone who attended last Saturday and helped make our first workshop a success! We can't wait to see your work and how you evolve from here!
